Directions
Description - Step 1
Prepare the Gram Flour & Boil Mixture
- In a bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sprouted wheat flour, and 1 liter of water. Mix everything together until smooth and free of lumps. Then, add 2 tablespoons of ghee and mix thoroughly to incorporate.
- In a heavy-bottomed kadai, let's bring this mixture to a boil over low heat.
Description - Step 2
Add sugar & Prepare the mold
- Now, let's add 500 grams of sugar to the mixture and stir continuously to prevent sticking and burning.
- Next, grab a silicone mold and sprinkle some chopped dry fruits into it.
Description - Step 3
Add ghee & Fill the mold
- After 25 to 30 minutes of cooking, you'll notice the mixture starting to thicken. At this point, let's add 4 tablespoons of ghee and continue stirring continuously. Then, gradually add 200 grams of ghee, stirring constantly to prevent sticking and burning.
- Once the ghee starts separating from the mixture, go ahead and turn off the gas. Now, transfer this hot mixture into a mold. Allow the soan halwa to cool down to room temperature before serving.
